PokéVew - Source of All Info Related to Pokemon

A deal between Pokemon and Disney was recently reached, giving Disney-branded television both broadcasting and streaming rights. This deal will allow Disney to start broadcasting Pokemon on DisneyXD and allow it to stream on their Disney+ service. This deal only impacts people in the US. 

Specific details behind the deal are also not known, such as what series and seasons Disney will be broadcasting/streaming and whether the catalog will appear all at once or in batches. Once that information is known, I will update this story!

Lately, Netflix has reserved the rights within the US markets to stream the new Pokemon show, which is currently Pokemon Horizons. Older episodes are also available. However, Pokemon's official YouTube channel has also been posting episodes - starting from the first episode - everyday, progressing through the seasons and series. It is also not known whether the deal with Disney will impact this. If I was to assume, it probably won't.  

We don't know specific details behind the deal - just that it Disney would be premiering the show through their channel and streaming service within a couple months. 

I am certain this will give Disney the exclusive rights to the next Pokemon series. Guess we shall see.

Earlier today, the Pokemon Center dropped the Destined Rivals ETB, Booster Boxes, and Booster Bundle items. As expected, the queue system went up and was instantly inundated with folks trying to secure the PC exclusive Destined Rivals ETB. Here is my personal experience...

I woke up early and my friend showed me the new ETB artwork. I was under the impression that there would be no drop until later this week. Considering the PC preorder drops tend to occur on Thursdays and Fridays, I would have assumed the same would happen this week, so I didn't pay too much attention. I almost decided to fall back asleep, but then I heard people mentioning a potential drop today. So upon hearing  that, I decided to stay up a bit longer, and I am glad I did! Shortly after, I saw the queue system notifications going off, so I decided to jump on the Pokemon Center website immediately. I was trying to queue up from my phone and PC, hoping to get in from one of those locations. It took around 15 minutes before I was in the website on my phone. I quickly navigated around, but was unable to find the Destined Rivals product. I went from New Releases, TCG section, and just aimlessly wandering about, trying to find it. Then I clicked the product link from a Discord server and was able to find the ETB. I quickly made my order and upon a few error messages here and there, it went through! 

This time, the Pokemon Center website only allowed a limit of 1 per person. I tried to make another order to test this out but was promptly hit with an error message. I then proceeded to find the Booster Boxes and Booster Bundles for this set, but had no luck. Even after using the direct product links, I was hit with "No Product Found" Pikachu message. I eventually refreshed enough times to where the product went live but it was too late... It was unavailable. However, some people managed to secure both items! I guess it came down to luck...

Eventually, the Pokemon Center website logged me out and sent an "Oops something went wrong" message, which I started to assume I had spent too long on the website, and was pushed back out into the queue. 

I saw many folks error out, get sent back into queue when trying to make their order, or hit with a refresh AS they were waiting in queue. Plagued by a lot these issues, the Pokemon Center queue system continues to highlight how it is from perfect. To only way to secure any exclusive product ready to drop is to hit the queue almost immediately when it goes live, otherwise, chances remain low.

My personal experience today was decent. I mean, I managed to secure the PC exclusive ETB for Destined Rivals but many people shared their tumultuous experience today with facing errors and many other issues. 

I truly hope Pokemon Center improves this process, but I also realize that with 2 million+ people waiting in queue (most probably being bots), it will inundate the servers and cause slow down, glitches, and just wild experiences.

Let's hope we there will be another restock soon to give those that were unable to secure another chance. 

The Pokemon Company International has put out an official statement about the upcoming TCG release for Prismatic Evolutions.

It should come at no surprise that the demand is extremely high due to the special illustration rares for Eevee and Eeveelutions. With the Pocket TCG app driving forth an incredible uptick in interest and fans rushing out to buy modern sets, and to social media driving forth poke-investing for singles and sealed products, this set is driving a lot of demand to the point it is almost close to impossible to order one. Unless you got lucky pre-ordering or spent a crazy amount towards scalpers, trying to secure any Prismatic Evolutions product is definitely a task to say the least.

With that said, it is good to see Pokemon officially acknowledging this and releasing a statement. Hopefully more product can be printed and released for more fans to enjoy. As someone who is grew up with collecting the cards and is currently getting back into it due to the PTCG driving interest again, I am looking forward to picking this product up. Let's just hope that Pokemon can actually pull through with releasing more of this product so the scalpers have nothing to grasp onto.

The Popplio community day on Pokemon Go is going live globally and will run from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. During the community day event, players will be able to encounter a shiny Popplio in the wild. Also, evolving Brionne to Primarina during the event will result in Primarina learning the exclusive move, Hydro Cannon.

Today at the Gamescom 2024, Pokemon-branded microSD cards were revealed. These cards are designed for the Nintendo Switch and come in 3 varieties: 256 GB at $32.99 (featuring Pikachu), 512 GB at $54.99 (featuring Gengar), and 1 TB at $129.99 (featuring Snorlax). 

These microSD cards have up to 100 MB/s read speed and up to 90 MB/s write speeds. 

Pokemon has announced the 2025 and 2026 locations for their World Championships.

• 2025 location: Anaheim, California (August 15 - 17)
• 2026 location: San Francisco, California (August 28 - 30)

The Pokemon website has officially revealed a new Pokemon coming to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Per the site:

"This Pokémon is small in stature and not particularly strong, but when push comes to shove, it can crystallize the energy in its body to form a protective shield. Apparently, it can also assume a dormant state when it feels that its life is in danger by pulling its head, limbs, and tail into its shell and making itself look like a jewel.

Its splendid aura is reminiscent of the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos, but this Pokémon’s name and true nature are shrouded in mystery."

This new Pokemon (no known name yet) was initially revealed in the first episode of the Pokemon Horizons anime.

No further details are known at this time.

 The next Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violet has been announced! You can view the details below for the upcoming event:

 Nintendo of America recently tweeted out that they will be pushing a software update for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet on December 1st. The update includes the following fixes:

• Launch of Season 1 of Ranked Battles
• Fixing the music that was not playing during battles against the Elite Four and Top Champion in Victory Road Path
• Other select bug fixes 

We do not know what other bug fixes this update will tackle, but if more information is released, I'll be sure to make a post.

Nintendo ends with the following statement regarding performance:

"We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games' performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games."

A couple pages from the CoroCoro magazine has begun to leak, showcasing a few images from the TCG, anime, and the upcoming games: Pokemon Scarlett and Pokemon Violet.

Please not that the image regarding the anime contains spoilers, so be careful in case you want to go into the Master 8's tournament blind. 

While the images for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet don't contain anything substantial, it does give a couple of new insights regarding outfits, battle, and a mysterious dark image, which the contents are still being looked into. Will update this post if additional information comes about.

 On today's Pokemon Direct, the next-line Pokemon games were announced, titled: Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. These games mark the introduction of generation 9, providing an open-world experience. 

From the official Pokemon website:

"The Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, the newest chapters in the Pokémon series, are coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. With these new titles, the Pokémon series takes a new evolutionary step, allowing you to explore freely in a richly expressed open world."

"Various towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness with no borders. You’ll be able to see the Pokémon of this region in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the streets—all over! You’ll be able to experience the true joy of the Pokémon series—battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch them—now in an open-world game that players of any age can enjoy.​"

Pokemon Evolutions, a new animated web series, was announced! Pokemon Evolutions will feature a total of eight episodes, focused around exploring each of the eight regions - starting in the Galar region and ending in Kanto in the final episode. Each episode will take the viewer on an adventure with familiar characters from the games to Pokemon found within those respective regions, too. 

The following episodes will be released:

• September 9, 2021: “The Champion” featuring the Galar region
• September 23, 2021: “The Eclipse” featuring the Alola region
• October 7, 2021: “The Vision” featuring the Kalos region
• October 21, 2021: “The Plan” featuring the Unova region
• December 2, 2021: “The Rival” featuring the Sinnoh region
• December 9, 2021: “The Wish” featuring the Hoenn region
• December 16, 2021: “The Show” featuring the Johto region
• December 23, 2021: “The Quest” featuring the Kanto region

 The official Pokemon Twitter account recently announced the upcoming Pokemon Presents presentation on August 18th. This presentation will focus around Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends. 

This presentation will be held on their official YouTube account at 6 am PDT on August 18th (Wednesday). Any information that is revealed and shown will be posted here ASAP! So be sure to keep checking back

A new episode title for Pokemon Journeys was revealed by the Japanese TV Guide: 

Episode #1163: "Full Power! Alola Uninhabited Island Race!!"

This episode will be premiering in Japan on August 13th, 2021. We'll bring you more details as they come.

It was recently announced that the first 12 episodes of Pokemon Master Journeys will be premiering on Netflix on September 10th, 2021 in the US. Pokemon Master Journeys is the next season of Pokemon, following Pokemon Journeys. A trailer was released on YouTube, showing highlights of things to come. 

These episodes come at a later date compared to the usual 3 month cycle release on Netflix, possibly trying to provide a greater time frame between the air date in Japan. 

 This is an exciting period for PokeVew! I've always dreamed for this day ever since I started blogging - imagining that I would one day run my own Pokemon website. Since middle school, I've been posting Pokemon news to share with folks all around the world. I held on to the belief that one day I'd own my very own domain and expand my Pokemon site to reach a wider demographic and get more eyes on this website. 

Well... Today, I am happy to announce the launch of pokevew.com

PokeVew started as a blog on blogger where I published Pokemon news on a (semi) regular basis. Unfortunately, life called and I had to step away from blogging at certain times, but my love for publishing Pokemon news and working on some cool projects around Pokemon never ceased! I am happy that I am finally able to reserve a domain for this website and continue contributing. 

What can you expect from this site? Regular updates around upcoming Pokemon news, some fun projects, and continuous expansion where you can find some helpful information regarding Pokemon games, the anime, and possibly even TCG!

The end date for the Pokemon Unite beta that has been running in Canada has been revealed. The beta will end on March 15th at 1:00 pm. Alongside it ending, all associated data within the beta will be deleted. 

If additional betas or dates are revealed, they will be posted.

Uri Geller, an illusionist, released a statement earlier today in regards to the Kadabra ban. Geller got into a dispute with Nintendo surrounding Kadabra 20 years ago. Due to such, Kadabra pretty much disappeared from the TCG, and appearances were either limited or avoided within the anime itself. Geller believed that Kadabra was based on him, especially his spoon-bending tricks, and was not notified by the creators themselves. This prompted him to take legal action in 2000 where he requested Pokemon to stop using Kadabra within the TCG. After 20 years, Geller tweeted out a statement mentioning he was releasing the ban and apologized for his actions. You can check out his tweet below.
