Disney Branded Television Acquires Broadcasting and Streaming Right to Pokemon (US)

A deal between Pokemon and Disney was recently reached, giving Disney-branded television both broadcasting and streaming rights. This deal will allow Disney to start broadcasting Pokemon on DisneyXD and allow it to stream on their Disney+ service. This deal only impacts people in the US.

Specific details behind the deal are also not known, such as what series and seasons Disney will be broadcasting/streaming and whether the catalog will appear all at once or in batches. Once that information is known, I will update this story!

Lately, Netflix has reserved the rights within the US markets to stream the new Pokemon show, which is currently Pokemon Horizons. Older episodes are also available. However, Pokemon's official YouTube channel has also been posting episodes - starting from the first episode - everyday, progressing through the seasons and series. It is also not known whether the deal with Disney will impact this. If I was to assume, it probably won't.

We don't know specific details behind the deal - just that it Disney would be premiering the show through their channel and streaming service within a couple months.

I am certain this will give Disney the exclusive rights to the next Pokemon series. Guess we shall see.

New Pokemon Journeys Episodes Revealed + Upcoming Site Changes

Two new upcoming episodes have been revealed!

PJEpisode #080: "The Moon and the Sun: Chloe and Haruhi" (Premiering September 3rd)

PJEpisode #081: "Trial Mission! Volcarona's Golden Scales!!" (Premiering September 10th)

I'll be working on compiling a list of all Pokemon Journey episodes and where the US stands in terms of episodes within an additional page within this site.

Furthermore, I have been noticing a great influx of people visiting this site over the past month! This is very exciting, especially now that we have our own domain. I'll be working on a new layout for this site to make it more accessible and user friendly + for upcoming projects down the line

Uri Geller Tweets out Apology Regarding Kadabra Ban

Uri Geller, an illusionist, released a statement earlier today in regards to the Kadabra ban. Geller got into a dispute with Nintendo surrounding Kadabra 20 years ago. Due to such, Kadabra pretty much disappeared from the TCG, and appearances were either limited or avoided within the anime itself. Geller believed that Kadabra was based on him, especially his spoon-bending tricks, and was not notified by the creators themselves. This prompted him to take legal action in 2000 where he requested Pokemon to stop using Kadabra within the TCG. After 20 years, Geller tweeted out a statement mentioning he was releasing the ban and apologized for his actions. You can check out his tweet below.

Kadabra is now free!

Return of PokeVew!

Hello fellow Pokemon trainers and fans!

I started PokeVew a year or so ago, transitioning my old blog to a new format with a better name. I got into blogging at a young age where I was very excited to share new and upcoming Pokemon news and information with fans. Whenever Pokemon news would drop or new info regarding games, the anime, and products would drop, I was on the case. While blogging as a whole hasn't been as popular as it was... a decade ago, I am very much dedicated towards continuing my interests with this and seeing this blog grow (and possibly into a website!).

Moving forward, you can expect a whole lot more from this blog. Ranging from Pokemon news being posted, cool projects detailing information from games, and possibly articles diving deeper into intriguing aspects of the Pokemon world.

If you'd like, be sure to follow the blog so you are notified when a post is made.

Look forward to seeing you around!
